to Perform at the Capitol - 1/16/06 Chapel Hill-based “Charles Pettee & FolkPsalm” will be performing on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol Building on Martin Luther King Day, Mon., 1/16/06, 11:45 am – 12:30 pm as a part of a service led by the organization Sojourners (www.sojo.net), concluding a three day conference on “Politics and Spirituality: Seeking a Public Integrity,” featuring among other speakers, best-selling author Anne Lamott. Jim Wallis, best-selling author (“God’s Politics’) and founder of Sojourners, will officiate the proceedings, in which 1600 conferees will recall the social action legacy of Dr. King as participants walk to the Capitol and offer prayers for the nation and its leaders.
